Satya Cones

Satya is one of the world’s leading incense brands, best known for its unique packaging style and Nag Champa – the most commercially successful incense blend ever formulated, and India’s biggest incense export. Stamford London has been a distributor for over 20 years and in early 2020 was appointed exclusive UK import and distribution rights for Shrinivas Sugandhalaya LLP of Mumbai – thanks to the strength of the Stamford distribution network and our sterling reputation for stock management.

The Satya ranges available from Stamford London include hand-rolled masala sticks and dhoop cones. All products are certified green with recyclable packaging and comply with the IFRA (International Fragrance Association) and the EU’s REACH standards.

Satya was the brainchild of Shri KN Satyam Setty, who established his Shrinivas Sugandhalaya LLP incense business in 1964 from his home in Mumbai. He adopted the traditional production methods employed by monks in the Middle Ages – blending ingredients into a paste, or masala, then hand-rolling around a bamboo reed to create finely layered and exquisitely fragranced incense sticks.

That same year, Shri KN Satyam Setty formulated the signature Nag Champa fragrance under the Satya brand. The enormous success it enjoyed spurred the creation of many more beautiful scents in a range of styles. While many manufacturers have shifted to purely machine-pressed production of incense sticks over the years, Shrinivas Sugandhalaya LLP of Mumbai continues to adhere to the traditional hand-rolled method, providing employment for three generations of primarily female, highly-skilled artisans.
